"Camera" shape that can be operated as object |
Shade3D has a default "metacamera" that has no geometry in a new scene, which can display the scene in the "perspective view" seen from it without creating a camera.
The Metacamera can be controlled in the Camera window and Navigation Tool, but by creating a camera as a shape, it can be manipulated with the Manipulator and Move tools and duplicated with the Duplicate tool, just like any other shapes.
● Create a camera geometry using the tool box
Select "Camera" from the "Light/Camera" group in the toolbox and drag in the drawing to create a camera shape.
The starting point of the drag works as the camera's "Eye" and the ending point as the "Target". The angle of view displayed as a square pyramid shows the area that the camera can capture.
● "Camera" window and "Navigation Tool"
Control the selected camera from the metacamera and camera geometry in the scene. Different cameras can be selected and manipulated in the Camera window and in the Perspective view.
The "Camera" window allows you to control the camera selected in the pop-up menu. In addition to operations such as "Eye", "Target", "Eye & Target", and "Zoom", you can also create a camera geometry and a light source from the camera geometry.
In addition, the camera selected in the Cameras window is used for rendering (when the Active Viewport checkbox in the Image Window is unchecked).
With the "Navigation Tool" in "Perspective View", you can control the camera selected in the drawing by dragging the icon up, down, right, or left.
◇ Dolly
Moves the Eye and Target to up, down, right, or left by dragging while pressing the alt(Windows)/option(macOS) key.
◇ Rotate
Rotates the cameras.
◇ Zoom
Moves the viewpoint back and forth along the axis of the line of sight by dragging while pressing the alt(Windows)/option(macOS) key.
The detailed camera settings are available in "Misc." in the "Camera" window.
● Correction
Corrects distortion of the subject due to perspective.
● Bank
Tilts the camera around the line of sight axis.
● Shift, Rise, Swing, Tilt
Shifts the Eye, Target, optical axis, etc. by using Shift, Rise, Film Shift, Film Rise, Film Swing, Film Tilt, Lens Swing, and Lens Tilt. (The sample images show the Shift and Rise.)
6 Manipulators to Control Shapes |
Shade3D is equipped with the 6 types of manipulators, each specialized for a particular operating type. They can control the entire camera geometry, as well as the Eye and Target.
● Universal
Includes the functions for translate movement, rotation, and scaling.
● Translate
Moves objects in a straight line or in a plane.
● Scale
Scaling in 1-axis and 2-axis directions and equal scaling.
● Rotate
Rotates objects in 3 axes.
● Shear
Shear in the triaxial direction.
● Size
Sets the size by entering a numerical value in the bounding box.
