Introduction

In Shade3D, following the F8-AI Help Support (F8-AI Chat) that became standard in Version 26, we have newly released the Shade3D AI Generation Tool as a separately sold option, further expanding our AI‑powered capabilities. This is an AI system specialized in generating texture images—essential for expressing the wide range of surface qualities required in 3DCG and metaverse model production—using deep learning and diffusion models.

Shade3D has an integrated interface that allows users not only to import generated images into a scene but also to create materials with the appropriate settings and apply them directly to models. It also generates normal maps at the same time to represent fine surface details and micro‑level bumps. The AI Generation Tool enables users to configure materials quickly without needing to obtain image assets or perform time‑consuming editing and conversion work.

Generally, AI technologies require a high-spec GPU. The AI Generation Tool is supported by a high-performance server system, allowing fast image generation without depending on the Shade3D operating environment.

Generate Texture Images from Text

In addition to entering a text prompt, you can also specify a drawing style to generate images. Choosing a drawing style allows you to create images specialized for different textures, such as transparent single‑use images for signs, seamless patterns like tiles and bricks, and billboard‑style images featuring people or plants. It also supports generating standard images such as paintings and illustrations, and can be used to create small decorative assets like artwork for interior perspective renderings.

Image‑to‑Image Conversion

The Image Input feature allows you to generate a new image from an existing one. It can convert colored textures into normal maps or depth maps, and it also lets you create bump‑mapped materials from a single photo. Unlike traditional image enlargement, the Image Scaling feature uses AI‑based noise reduction and interpolation to generate highly precise, high‑resolution images without blur. These capabilities allow you to make the most of even limited image assets.
