From October 21 to 25, ITS World Congress was held at Suntec
Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore. The theme
this year was "Smart Mobility, Empowering Cities", and total of 164
companies participated as exhibitor.
This year, FORUM8 exhibited in a 4-side-open large booth under
the theme of "VR-Design Studio UC-win/Road, VR platform for
Autonomous Driving and Mobility R&D". We exhibited the latest solutions centered on a
hardware cooperating system using 3D VR software UC-win/Road.
At the FORUM8 booth, we exhibited the VR Motion Seat playing the roller coaster ride scenario,
Automatic Steering VR Simulator with Torque Control, and other ADAS
solutions and VR solutions utilizing VR Design Studio UC-win/Road.
We also introduced the comprehensive 3DCG software Shade3D that can
be widely applied to modeling, CAD design, and 3D printing. It can
be used for product design, interior design, and architectural
perspective view corresponding to the standard formats of 3D
printing such as IGES, STEP, and STL. In addition, we showed a
demonstration of VR-NEXT. It is a cloud type cross-platform
application that corresponds to the reflection and high-precise
depiction of material by PBR (Physical Base Rendering).
A 4-axis motion driving simulator provided visitors immersive
experience, and we also told about the Simulink option and the
cooperation with HILS. In addition, we exhibited the camera sensor plug-in
option that simulates functions of vehicle-mounted sensor. It can
detect surrounding vehicles, pedestrians, objects and line marking
and display analysis results in segmentation. It can also display
depth information and camera feed of fish-eye lens in VR. Many
visitors had interests in ADAS, especially in sensor option, and
they seemed to have needs of testing platform linked with HILS.
FORUM8 will continue to expand new functions of UC-win/Road and
other products as a VR platform for autonomous driving and mobility
R&D.
