| FORUM8 ran a booth for the first time at CES ASIA held at Shanghai New
International Expo Centre from June 11 to June 13, 2019. CES, the world
largest trade show of consumer technology and electronics device is held
in every January in Los Angeles, the US. CES ASIA started in 2015 as the
biggest exhibition of state-of-the-art technology in Asia and is held in
June every year. FORUM8 exhibited the latest solutions at CES ASIA this
year following CES in January. FORUM8 booth was at the automobile section and FORUM8 introduced various products including the 3D real-time virtual reality software UC-win/Road Ver.13 under the theme, "VR/AR/MR, IoT and Gaming Solutions by FORUM8". FORUM8 showcased a variety of solutions. VR-NEXT is a cross platform application corresponding to a new rendering method called "Physical Base Rendering (PBR)" that is for 3D model with realistic physical characteristics like material and light. Shade3D is a Japanese-born comprehensive 3D CG software selling over 500,000 copies. The hands-free driving "Air Driving" using UC-win/Road VR user interface linked with Kinect or Xtion Pro®, the 4-axis motion driving simulator, and the autonomous driving by the automatic steering VR simulator with torque control were also exhibited. In addition, visitors experienced FORUM8's latest technologies such as a AR application system that simulations of manufacturing lines are shown on tablet or smartphone devices when users hold the devices over the drawings. The interactive cloud solution VR-Cloud® allows the control of the VR space and the driving simulation with mobile devices. The VR Motion Seat is cooperated with a HMD (Head Mounted Display) and shows wearers the VR of the ride on a roller coaster running through buildings in Shinagawa. FORUM8 also explained its ADAS related simulation technology, visualization examples of analysis results of big data, and customization examples to utilize sensing data in the VR space as a development environment of AI and deep learning function. As effective VR usages, FORUM8 suggested the detection and use of surrounding objects and line information after simulating sensor functions, the analysis of scenes and the display of it in sorted segmentation, and the display of depth information. Many people related to ADAS and automobile visited the event, and it was a great success as an exhibition in China. Since FORUM8 exhibited systems in a variety of fields, it could introduce its results and study cases, exchange information about new projects, and get several business talks with departments that other groups of the same company are already a FORUM8 user as well as new users. FORUM8 is going to showcase at CES 2020 in next January and CES Asia 2020 in next June in a bigger space than this year. VR related products and solutions are planned to be exhibited at these exhibitions. FORUM8 will suggest up-to-date VR simulation. Please keep your eyes on our advancement.
