We are holding the 10th UC-win/Road Conference
and VR-Studio Conference on May 20th, 5 days from now. Since the
numbers of attendees increases every year, we have chosen a larger venue. However,
there are limited seats available for the technical sessions, so please
register as soon as possible. We will have simultaneous interpreters for
English, Korean, and Chinese in the main hall.

There will be an 'Experience Simulator' with 6-axises of motion on display
in the foyer of the main hall. You will have the opportunity to try this
yourself using the simulation data of the TOYOTA "Vehicle-Infrastructure
                  Cooperative Systems simulator.

In addition, there will be other attractions for you to experience such
as a demo simulator and a 3D-STEREO Monitor with special 3-D glasses. The
lecturers are encouraged to attend the subsequent networking party, giving
you the chance to discuss in detail, the lecture topics. We know you’ll
find it both very interesting and great fun, so please come and join us!!

-Supports a large scale project including many terrain
ranges.
-New CAD style interface via table and objects
                              -Improvement of

We will introduce the contents of UC-win/Road Ver.4 main upgrades, which
are scheduled to be released on September, 2009.
This time we will start to
develop a new major version as broad updating, focusing on three themes; data
modeling, visualization and simulation wide.
We will tell about a development
direction of UC-win/Road as well as its updates |

| Smooth interaction between entrepreneurs and citizens is necessary for
them to develop good community. One method to do is an interaction in a
workshop form. but, it is the most effective at deepening mutual understanding
over their interests for interested parties to walk to a site, share an
awareness, and visualize it on a map. Utilizing VR-Studio(TM) allows them
to communicate more deeply. Also, it is expected to reflect to designs
easily, making up the randomness of data, workshop weakness. So, to provide
a topic, I introduce a part of my work, a model in an area, which is that
how communication can be possible by reflecting the workshop results of
my map creating on 3D VR. |

Circular Route Shinjuku and Shinagawa Line to Route 3 Shibuya Line. Ohashi
junction, four-leg intersection constructed in limited site and space, is
connected with two-loop in the tunnel, which difference of elevation is 70
meters. To feedback the experiment result to road marking or traffic sign
planning, we reproduce Ohashi junction as VR space, do an experiment with
UC-win/Road Drive Simulator and then, evaluate and review the effectiveness and
ineffectiveness of drivers' behavior and psychological state. |

National Agency for Automotive Safety and Victim's Aid (NASVA) is
operating a Driving aptitude diagnosis system called "NASVAnet", which advise
for safety driving via a commercial PC and a internet line. In addition to
conventional measuring method on driving property, NASVAnet has adopted a new
measuring method with a Driving Simulator (DS). In this lecture, we will talk
about how much difference are there between new advise with the DS and
conventional advices without the DS are there, including difference with the
other company's DS.

calculate fuel consumption and carbon footprint based on a result of driving
log, and make a graph.
Also, we will introduce an example of verification: how close the state
of driving have a relation with carbon footprint when you drive in a town
                              with UC-win/Road.

| The simulation packages of dynamic behavior of motor vehicles,
"CarSim", "TruckSim", and "BikeSim", born in Michigan University, are developed
into products by Mechanical Simulation. It reproduce correct vehicle behavior
based on the technical know-how gained from years of experience in vehicle
performance d research. Though, vehicle behavior is depends on state of road as
well as vehicle performance, these conditions can be considered. In this
presentation, we introduce about the construction of more realistic driving
simulator, which is realized by combination between vehicle models by the UC-win/Road and the CarSim. |

Simulation results can be easy to check and explain, linking with
3D VR. It contributes to deepen mutual understanding in a realistic VR space as
well as 3D visualization. Also, we introduce the micro simulation player, which
are easy to link simulation result by other application with the UC-win/Road via OpenMicroSim XML file

| In 2002, JACIC established "Secretariat of the Construction Information
Standard Committee" to improve the interoperability of the infrastructure
information in cooperation with the Industry-Academia-Government. They have
developed and popularized the standard type for CALS. Though the improvement of
the productivity and the secure of the quality by 3D information are lately
focused on, it depends on their situation what they expect for it. As the basic
for "CALS/EC Action Program 2008-MLIT", I would like to introduce the idea of
approach to the standardizing 3D infrastructure information for the future. |

| We have been seeking the method to create high quality and
moderate price 3D simulation model which is used in the scene such as the
consensus formation, the design consultation and the consideration. The 3D map
and the design data distributed in construction life cycle are efficiently
converted to achieve the results. At the same time, we are approaching the
effective utilization of existing database. I would make a presentation of the
past example and the development idea for the future. |

"OHPASS" is the Optimal Highway Path Automatic Search System by
genetic algorithm (GA), it allows you to simulate and evaluate the road
alignments design on the digital terrain data, then you can decrease the project
costs, and make an improvements of the earth volume balance.
                              If the optimum
linear from "OHPASS" is linked to "UC-win/Road", the assessment in the landscape
is becoming possible as the linear assessment at the view of drivers in a free
velocity and the linear assessment with the experience by using driving
simulator. I would like to present a overview of the linkage between "OHPASS"
and "UC-win/Road", and the case examples in the proto type project. |

| VR-Studio allows you to construct a large sized VR data in the multiuser
environment better than ever. So we will make a proposal the construction
of 3D digital city to the municipality. The urban information had managed
in variety of ledgers/databases will be managed in the method based in
3D digital city. I would like to present the system construction which
can be applied to the landscape, traffic and disaster simulation including
                              the overseas case examples. |
